Hemsö’s vision
Our vision is to restore Tensta Gymnasium by creating a school campus with high-quality education where students of all ages, and from all over Stockholm, can meet. We want the premises to accommodate an elementary school, an upper-secondary school (gymnasium) and adult education/higher education.
School during the day and community meetings in the evening create a sense of security, with movement and activity throughout most of the day. We want our school campus to be a place where local residents and people from all over Stockholm can meet.
A fond return!
Hemsö’s CEO Nils Styf met Rodrigo Pencheff at Tensta gymnasium for an interview during Järva Week 2022. Nils talks about Hemsö’s plans for the gymnasium and Rodrigo and Ndereyah Kasubi who are both former students at the gymnasium in Tensta takes a tour of their old school, a dear reunion that evokes fond memories.

Welcome to tomorrow’s Tensta Gymnasium and Tensta Träff
We invited the Mayor of Stockholm, Anna König Jerlmyr (Moderate Party), and leader of the opposition, Karin Wanngård (Social Democrat Party), to take part in a political discussion about the future of Tensta. To describe and discuss the history and development of Tensta, we also invited Ahmed Abdirahman (founder and CEO of The Global Village Foundation and former student of Ross Tensta Gymnasium), Annika Friberg (Moderate Party and Chair of the Spånga-Tensta District Council) and Erik Stenberg (architect and initiator of the KTH School of Architecture in Tensta). The discussions were alternated with the voices of local residents, describing how they view their neighbourhood.

Let us know what you think
Before the place develops, Hemsö wants to listen to those who live nearby, work or go to school in Tensta and/or visit the place. What needs do you have and how do you see the location contributing to Tensta in the future?
